If you ever hear about pie, then the ingredient is usually a fruit like an apple pie which tastes sweet. However, chicken and leek pie is entirely different. It tastes savory rather than sweet. It is also as delicious as any other pie. Moreover, you can make it yourself based on the recipe below.

Ingredients:

·         A tablespoon of butter
·         Six boneless chicken breasts, diced
·         A cup of chopped leeks
·         A cup of halved mushrooms
·         25 gr flour
·         A glass of milk or cream
·         A cup of chicken stock
·         Puff pastry
·         Salt and black pepper

Directions:

1.      1Prepare a large fry pan and heat the butter on it. Then, put and cook the chicken until it turns to golden brown or until all part of the chicken are well cooked. After that, move the chicken to a plate and set aside for a while.
2.      2Heat the pan again and add a bit more butter. Put and fry the leeks and mushrooms for about 5 minutes or until they become tender. Here, you also can add wine which is optional. Then, you cook the ingredients until the wine gets evaporated.
3.      3Get a large pot and melt the butter on it. Give and stir the flour into the pot. Then continue to stir with milk or cream. Combine well and add the chicken stock to the mixture. Do not forget to add salt and pepper for seasoning and make it simmer for about 5 minutes.
4.      4Add the chicken mixture and leek mixture to the large pot and combine them all. Cover the pan and simmer on low heat for around 10 – 15 minutes. Next, prepare the pie dish with puff pastry tin and fill the chicken mixture to it and give a layer of puff pastry on the top of it. Another alternative is that you can brush the top with egg rather than cover with puff pastry.
5.      5Prepare the oven and make it heat over 200 celsius-degree and bake the pastry for 15 until 20 minutes or until the pie turns golden brown. After it gets roasted, remove the pie from the oven. You can serve this dish with stewed potato if you want.
