Ingredients
·
4
small crisp apples (I used McIntosh)
·
104g
of sugar
·
3/4
cup of water
·
red
food colouring
Instructions
1.
Add
sugar, water and a few drops of red food colouring to a jug and stir all
together. The colour should be clear bright red.
2.
Add
the mixture to a saucepan over a high heat, and boil until it reaches 300f/149c
- this part will take approx 15-20 minutes, but don't leave it unattended, as
once temp starts to rise, it will rise quickly.
3.
While
mixture is boiling, you can add sticks to the apples and place them on a tray
lined with parchment.
4.
Remove
saucepan from heat, just as it reaches the correct temp. Grab one apple and dip
in the mixture, spooning it over areas it doesn't reach and allow excess to drip
back into the pan.
5.
Place
the toffee apple on the parchment lined tray and repeat with the other 3
apples.
6.
Allow
to set, takes about 10 minutes and enjoy!!
